A Pioneering Sprit Lives On - The Story of the Deans by Lula Dean Watson

The narrative below was written by Lula Dean Watson of Dallas, Texas. We have Lula to thank for most of the early historical data on the John Dean, Sr. family. This narrative was written for one of the Dean Reunions that took place on Sunday, September 6th, 1959. This was sent by Ann Dean, who's husband is a descendant of Asa Dean, a brother to Jarrett Dean who came to Texas in 1845.

Great meeting Charles Ham - descendant of William Thomas Dean and Susan F Gaines

While visiting the grave of Daniel and Ann Dean, I learned from the person across the street from the cemetery about Charles Ham who lived just miles away in Montalba, TX.  Charles is a cousin of my grandfather, Billy Q. Dean.
My dad (Wayne) and I went to go meet Charles and had a great time.  He told us many stories about the Deans and also shared the Dean Book which we scanned.
